MTV announces new digital music & style platform

MTV has unveiled plans to launch District MTV, a new digital platform that looks at style though the MTV lens. The platform draws on MTV’s access to content, people and events, to help readers discover, curate and explore global fashion and music talent. Launching in October, District MTV will explore how the style leaders the channel has tracked over 30 years influence the stars of today, bringing readers music videos, red carpet moments, live performances and interviews. District MTV will tap into its global network to deliver trends, local style movements, pop culture and talent from around the world. District MTV’s editorial team includes: Melanie Hick, editor-in-chief; Helen Job, trends director; William Oliver, editor; Raven Smith, art director; and George Langford, assistant editor.

Melanie Hick, editor-in-chief, District MTV, said: “Music needs fashion and fashion needs music. We’re embracing MTV’s long-held passion for discovering and supporting emerging talent, to bring music and fashion fans the most exciting creators from around the world. We’re in a unique position to deliver incomparable archive content, be a source of global stories and gain access to the biggest, as well as, rising stars. District MTV will be the home of pop style, a place where you can discover, re-discover, create and collate your own world of global style.”
