Selfridges to launch No Noise concept in 2013

From 11 January 2013 until the end of February, department store Selfridges will house No Noise, a creative concept which encourages a momentary escape from modern living. Selfridges has reintroduced its Silence Room, a new version of the peaceful retreat that was introduced by founder Harry Gordon Selfridge in 1909, which will be situated in the Ultralounge on the lower ground floor and has been designed by architect Alex Cochrane. In addition to the Quiet Shop, featuring fashion to stationery, a series of in-store events will take place from the world’s largest meditation to silent orchestras. The shop will also showcase the power of iconic global brands who have removed their logos completely. For the first time, Selfridges will de-brand its yellow bag.
