Azzaro names new Creative Directors

French fashion house Azzaro has named Arnaud Maillard and Alvaro Castejón as its new Creative Directors. Arnaud Maillard (above left) trained as a designer at the École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and before finishing his studies, was hired to join Karl Lagerfeld’s team and ended working with the designer for 15 years. During this time Arnaud became the Studio Director of the Lagerfeld Gallery for seven years. In 2006, Arnaud joined the house Sybilla as the Creative Director, where he designed the RTW Mujer Sybilla and Jocomola collections. In October 2007, he opened the first vintage luxury boutique Le Faubourg in Madrid before setting up a new label Alvarno with Alvaro Castejón. Alvaro (above right) moved to New York in 1996 to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He started his professional career at the Oscar de la Renta fashion house after which he joined Alexander McQueen's creative team at Givenchy and McQueen in 1999. In 2001 he was hired by Karl Lagerfeld to launch a new creative project called the Lagerfeld Gallery and in 2008, he was appointed to direct and manage a new creative studio for Fendi. At the end of 2009, he created the firm, Alvarno, in collaboration with Arnaud Maillard.
