London Hat Week to launch in March

London Hat Week (LHW) is set to take place from 6-12 March, celebrating every aspect of making and wearing hats in the city (see DIARY dates). LHW will launch at My Favourite Hat, a new exhibition on 6 March which showcases the inspiration of London’s famous hat personalities. Visitors will have a chance to go behind the scenes at some of the oldest hat shops in London, such as Lock & Co and Bates the Hatters of Jermyn Street, to hear tales passed down through the centuries of British hatting. Workshops will be available with top London milliners, including Bailey Tomlin, Dillon Wallwork and Emma Yeo, who will be opening up their studios to share specialist hat making techniques with willing learners. Carnaby’s Atelier Millinery will serve as the official hub of London Hat Week, with a schedule of events being hosted by LHW partners across London during the week, many of which will be free of charge. The programme is available online via ateliermillinery.com and hatalksocial.com, and will be updated as more events are confirmed.
