Ports 1961 has announced the appointment of Natasa Cagalj as Creative Director across womenswear. For the first time Fiona Cibani is passing the baton to a designer who will be fully in charge of the women’s collection, as she takes the post as President of Ports 1961 NY. Natasa Cagalj graduated with distinction from the Central Saint Martins MA program in 1997, under the late Professor Louise Wilson. Straight after graduation she started working with Nino Cerruti and Peter Speliopoulos when he was appointed creative director of Cerruti Arte in Paris. When Alber Elbaz was appointed as a creative director at Lanvin in 2001, he invited her to join him as his right hand designer. In 2005 she was appointed as Head of Design at Stella McCartney in London where she remained until 2012. From 2012 to 2014 Natasa was a freelance consultant.
