Drapers Footwear Awards 2015 winners announced

The winners of the Drapers Footwear Awards 2015 were announced last night during a ceremony at London's Tower Bridge. Don McCarthy’s contribution to footwear, which spanned companies including Kurt Geiger, Shoe Studio and House of Fraser, was recognised with the Drapers Lifetime Achievement Award; while sandal brand Solillas picked up the Best New Business Award. Joseph Cheaney picked up Best Store Design of the Year for its Jermyn Street shop; Cheshire-based Shoetique was awarded Independent Footwear Retailer of the Year; and the Footwear Pure-play or Multichannel Retailer of the Year went to Schuh. Meanwhile, River Island won Best Footwear Offer in a Fashion Multiple or Department store, while Best Innovation in Footwear went to slipper brand Mahabis. Iris van Herpen for United Nude picked up Footwear Designer of the Year; and the Kids Brand of the Year Winner was Kickers. Mainstream Men’s Brand of the Year was awarded to Timberland, while the women’s counterpart went to Skechers. Women’s Fashion Brand of the Year went to trainer label Superga. This year also marked the launch of Draper’s Graduate of the Year Award in partnership with CAT Footwear, which was awarded to Tobias Rush for his design of a hybrid sneaker-inspired outdoor boot called Colorado Sneakerboot. Ted Baker picked up two awards for Men’s Fashion Brand and International Business of the Year; while Multiple Footwear Retailer of the Year went to Dune.
