Michelin-starred Chef launches pop-up restaurant in Harrods

Harrods has announced the opening of The French Laundry at Harrods on 1 October. Chef Thomas Keller (pictured here) will bring 14 of his staff to London for a 10 day ‘pop-up’ of the three Michelin-starred Napa Valley restaurant. This collaboration with Harrods will be the first European venture for Thomas Keller.

The French Laundry at Harrods will be housed in an enclosed space in Harrods’ fourth floor, with Keller aiming to recreate ‘The French Laundry’ as faithfully as possible. The temporary structure’s interior will be in keeping with the design ethos of the original restaurant in Yountville, California, with fixtures, fittings and signature dinnerware flown over for service.

As Keller says of the collaboration, “We are extremely excited to work with Harrods on this project. It is for us a first in many ways. We have never ventured to open a restaurant outside of the US, but we realized early on that our philosophies mirrored each other’s and we could not think of a better partner for this endeavor. It is my hope that each and every one of our guests will leave with a wonderful memory of having experienced The French Laundry while staying close to home.”
