John Lewis to launch new private label womenswear brand JL Weekend
For SS12 John Lewis is launching a brand new private label womenswear collection, JL Weekend. The collection is inspired by the style of French chic mixed with the US preppy look and is compiled from high quality materials, an on-trend pastel palette with splashes of colour and simple cuts. Cottons and denim provide a foundation for JL Weekend, with a variety of coloured jean pieces, pastel cotton shirts and a large selection of marl jersey. Highlights also include a broderie anglaise cotton dress in scorched orange, a pair of peg leg beige chinos and slouchy Breton tops, navy cotton dresses and a chain knit cardigan in navy and cream in the nautical theme. There are over 80 pieces within the range, priced from £20 for a slub cotton T-shirt to £100 for a cashmere cardigan and £150 for a soft leather tote bag in caramel. The collection, that will also include knitwear, scarves and accessories, is launching in all stores and online from February.
