Issey Miyake to feature in
Design Museum Collection exhibition

Issey Miyake’s 132 5. dresses (shown here) will be featuring in the Design Museum Collection display, which opens on 30 January. Entitled 'Extraordinary Stories About Ordinary Things', the exhibition will be a permanent display at the museum until the museum moves to larger premises in 2015 and features a number of key items in the museum’s collection. The designs will be part of the exhibition that will look at the inventive uses of plastics and recycled materials. A press view of the collection will be taking placeon 29 January (see DIARY dates).

Curator Gemma Curtain commented: "Issey Miyake’s work tries to find a balance between the practical and the beautiful, a concept that is as relevant today as it was when he started the fashion house. His constant experimentation with both forms and also production has kept him at the peak of international fashion and design."
