Wool and the Gang collaborates with Giles Deacon

British designer Giles Deacon's knitwear for his London Fashion Week show yesterday was co-designed by Wool and the Gang and made by its local Gang of knitters. The unique knitwear includes a chunky hand-knitted sweater dresses with tulip Intarsia, an extra-long stripy scarf and a selection of mittens, all made with sustainably produced Peruvian yarn. The UK Gang, aged from 20 to 60, knit in their own time from home, and then sell via woolandthegang.com. The Gang also produced a number of Giles + Wool and the Gang hats for journalists attending the show, along with a kit to prompt them to knit their own. The Gang continues to grow worldwide with knitters now based in Peru, US, France, Switzerland and Australia.
