Harper's Bazaar announces 2014
Women of the Year Award winners

British fashion title Harper's Bazaar celebrated its annual Women of the Year Awards last night, in association with Estée Lauder, Audemars Piguet and Selfridges & Co. The awards, held at Claridge's Hotel in London, recognised a selection of remarkable women whose talents and ambition are matched by their commitment and compassion. British actress Carey Mulligan, who appears on the cover of the magazine's December issue, was honoured with the Bazaar Inspiration Award; while Gwendoline Christie, known for her role in Game of Thrones, was named British Actress of the Year. Designers honoured included Diane Von Furstenberg, who was given the Fashion Icon award; Roksanda Ilincic, who was named Businesswoman of the Year; and Sarah Burton, who took home Designer of the Year; while Simone Rocha was celebrated as Young Designer of the Year. Julia Peyton was awarded Art Icon for her vision as director of the Serpentine Galleries; while Carolyn Murphy was honoured with the Beauty Icon award. Other women honoured were British model Rosie Huntington Whitely for Model of the Year; Margot Robbie for the Breakthrough Award; and Jessie Ware, who was awarded the Audemars Piguet Musician of the Year Award.
